BLACKWATER Sports coach Leo Isaac remains confident about his team’s quarterfinal chances as the Elite wrap up their elimination round campaign against Cebuana Lhuillier on Tuesday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at The Arena in San Juan.
The Elite, with a 7-5 win-loss card, are one place below the six team playoffs. But a win over the Gems (5-7) will tie Blackwater Sports for sixth place with Café France (8-7) and will give them the quarterfinal berth due to the winner-over-the-other rule.
Gametime is at 12 p.m.
Blackwater came back from six points down in regulation to force overtime and beat Café France, 87-83, last Thursday to keep its quarterfinal hopes alive.
“’Yung kapalaran namin, nasa amin pa rin. Gusto ko pa rin ’yung chance namin na nasa amin ’yung sitwasyon. Hopefully, we can make good of the opportunity given to us,” said Isaac.
NLEX (10-1) faces Cagayan Valley (8-4) the 2 p.m. game, with the Road Warriors seeking to regain a share of the lead with Big Chill.
In the first game, National University-Banco De Oro (4-8) guns for its third straight win against Derulo Accelero (1-11) at 10 a.m.
Team standings: Big Chill 11-1, NLEX 10-1, Jumbo Plastic Linoleum 10-3, Hog’s Breath Café 9-3, Cagayan Valley 8-4, Café France 8-5, Blackwater Sports 7-5, Boracay Rum 6-7, Cebuana Lhuillier 5-7, NU-BDO 4-8, Wangs Basketball 4-9, Zambales M-Builders 2-10, Derulo Accelero 1-11, Air21-Arellano 1-12.
