BLACKWATER Sports gets another shot at an outright semifinal spot when it battles lowly Hog’s Breath Café on Election Day in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the JCSGO gym in Quezon City.

Back-to-back losses by Blackwater Sports (7-3) relegated the team to second place, allowing four-time defending champion NLEX to claim the top spot with a 7-2 card.

“We need to win on Monday to get back our winning form just in time for the next level of competition,” said Blackwater Sports coach Leo Isaac.

The top two teams after the elimination clinch an outright semifinals berth.

The Razorbacks (1-8) meanwhile, are out to break an eight-game losing skid.

In the first game, Fruitas also hopes to gain a shot at the outright semifinal berth when it clashes with Café France in the first game at 12 noon.

The Shakers are still in contention for a semifinal seat with their 6-3 win-loss mark going into their match-up against the skidding Bakers, who have lost three in a row.

Fruitas is still in a position to tie Blackwater Sports at the end of the eliminations, in such case the Shakers will have the upper hand owing to the winner-over-the-other rule.

The Bakers need a win to gain a chance at a quarterfinal seat as the teams to finish third to sixth place will make it to the quarterfinals.

Standings: NLEX 7-2, Blackwater Sports 7-3, Fruitas 6-3, Boracay Rum 6-4, EA Regen Medical Group 6-4, Cagayan Valley 6-4, Big Chill 6-5, Cebuana Lhuillier 5-5, Café France 5-5, Jumbo Plastic 4-6, Hog’s Breath Café 1-8, Informatics 0-10.
