“Whatever is needed to change the lineup, gagawin namin. Kung may mga fines, Big Chill will shoulder that,” says Big Chill coach Robert Sison. Jerome Ascano

BIG Chill is willing to do anything so that its 3-on-3 team will be able to represent the country in the Fiba-Asia 3-on-3 tournament to be held from May 16 to 17 in Doha.

Big Chill coach Robert Sison confirmed a report that they will be appealing to the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas that its team that won the PBA D-League 3-on-3 title to be sent to Doha for the first-ever Fiba-Asia 3-on-3 tournament.

The SBP has decided that Blackwater Sports, which finished second in the PBA D-League 3-on-3 tournament, will represent the Philippines in the Asian tilt after Big Chill failed to submit documents necessary for the team’s accreditation.

“Whatever is needed to change the lineup, gagawin namin. Kung may mga fines, Big Chill will shoulder that,” Sison said.

Sison said that the team wasn’t able to submit documents because the 3-on-3 tournament was still ongoing during the deadline and the team was also deep in its Foundation Cup campaign.

“Siyempre, busy pa sila. Hindi rin na-process ‘yung passport dahil ‘yung iba, renewal," Sison said. "So we are not backing out."

Sison said that they will speak with SBP executive director Sonny Barrios on Thursday to make an appeal.

Big Chill’s team is composed of Far Eastern University star Terrence Romeo, Mac Montilla, Mar Villarhermosa and Mark Canlas.

Blackwater Sports has Kevin Ferrer, Gio Ciriacruz, Bacon Austria, and Robby Celiz in its 3-on-3 lineup.
