BIG CHILL captured its fourth straight win, downing Wangs Basketball, 75-66, on Thursday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Superchargers won their 10th win in 11 outings to remain on top of the team standings before the Christmas break.
Big Chill coach Robert Sison admitted that the Superchargers were out of focus but performed well enough to pull off the victory.
“Maganda 'yung tinakbo namin nung second half, first half medyo so-so,” said Sison. “’Yung mga players kasi distracted dahil magpa-Pasko na tapos may Christmas party pa kami ngayon.
“Sabi ko trabaho muna tayo ngayon,” Sison said.
Reil Cervantes had 11 of his 15 points in the second half and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the way for the Superchargers. Juneric Baloria had 13 points, while Janus Lozada added 10 markers.
Cervantes scored back-to-back baskets in a 6-0 start for Big Chill to post a 61-53 lead after trailing by just two points at the end of the third.
Michael Juico had 20 points for the Couriers, who slipped to a 4-5 win-loss slate.
