BIG Chill is using the loss to NLEX via sweep in the Aspirants Cup as a motivation to return to the PBA D-League finals next conference.

Head coach Robert Sison said the Superchargers lost to the better team, but that only pushes them to work harder to achieve their goal of winning a championship.

“Itong feeling na ito, hindi namin kakalimutan,” said Sison.

Big Chill was also swept by NLEX in the 2012 Foundation Cup.

“This would serve as a motivation to strive harder to try our best and be in the finals again.”

Despite holding a one-point lead at the end of the first quarter, Big Chill just could not hold on as the powerhouse NLEX controlled the game en route to a lopsided 88-70 victory in Game Two on Wednesday.

“Iba kasi dumiin ang NLEX,” said Sison. “Imagine from Garvo Lanete hanggang sa pinakadulo na player, lahat sila scorer. Gumagawa lahat. NLEX is really a powerhouse team. They are the better team.”

“We didn’t have an Ola Adeogun, we didn’t have a 6-foot-9 guy in the team and I think that’s a big factor for them,” said Sison.

Nevertheless, Sison remained satisfied with the Superchargers’ performance, saying the team deserved to be in the finals and play against the newly-minted five-time champion.

“I’m proud of my players. They deserve it because we worked harder than the other teams. We played better but NLEX is the best team right now,” said Sison.

As a consolation though, Sison said a few of his players have caught the attention of PBA ballclubs, including Reil Cervantes, who is out to revive his career in the pros after being drafted by Barangay Ginebra a few years back.

“May mga kumakausap sa mga players ko. Si Reil pinapatawag ng Meralco so I should say na, at least, ’yung D-League makakapagpakita sila and go to the next level which is the PBA,” said Sison.

The Superchargers as well as the rest of the teams in the developmental league will have two-week break before returning to action for the Foundation Cup on March 18.
