BIG CHILL looks to secure the top seed in the semifinal round when it tackles Hog’s Breath Café on Thursday on the final day of eliminations of the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at The Arena in San Juan.
The Superchargers, in first place with an 11-1 win-loss record, face the Razorbacks at 2 p.m.
A victory by the Superchargers will give them the No. 1 spot in the semifinals where they will meet the winner of the quarterfinal tiff between Hog’s Breath and Cagayan Valley.
The top two teams automatically advance to the semifinals with the next four teams playing in the quarterfinals. The third and fourth ranked squads will have a twice-to-beat advantage.
While the team had already clinched a semifinal berth, Big Chill coach Robert Sison said his team will go all out for the victory.
“We will have to play hard against Hog’s on our next game because we want to enter the semifinals on a winning note,” said Sison.
Big Chill will drop to the second spot if it loses to Hog’s Breath as NLEX will climb to No. 1 via the winner-over-the-other rule.
Hog’s Breath (9-3) is already assured of the number four spot and a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals. But the Razorbacks are definitely out to get a win to gain momentum before they face fifth-seeded Cagayan Valley in the next round.
NLEX will face Zambales M-Builders in the second game at 4 p.m. before the conference shifts to the playoffs.
