With momentum on its side, Big Chill goes for a PBA D-League Foundation Cup finals spot Thursday afternoon when it faces Cebuana Lhuillier at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
A win will give the Big Chill/FCA franchise its first-ever finals appearance since they joined the amateur basketball circuit by way of the defunct Philippine Basketball League.
The Superchargers showed admirable resiliency in Game Two last Tuesday as they handily defeated the Gems, 111-70, to level their best-of-three semifinal series.
The winner of the do-or-die match will take on the defending champions NLEX Road Warriors, who swept their best-of-three semifinal series against Blackwater.
Despite coming off a victory, Big Chill coach Robert Sison remains cautious ahead of the rubber match set at 2 p.m.
“The team who plays under pressure and plays with a sense of urgency will win,” said Sison. “The momentum is on our side and the team wants to take that as an opportunity.”
Cebuana Lhuillier coach Beaujing Acot vowed to bounce back from the lopsided Game Two defeat.
“They played very well last game and we played really bad,” said Acot. “What’s important is that we still have a chance to bounce back from our bad game.”
