BLACKWATER Sports defeated Informatics, 89-73, on Tuesday for its fourth win in five games in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at The Arena in San Juan.
The Elite solidified their hold of second place behind undefeated Fruitas (3-0).
Blackwater Sports coach Leo Isaac made an effort to give minutes to all the players and it paid dividends as 43 points were scored by the second stringers.
“We wanted to share the minutes,” said Isaac. “We want them to have minutes dahil gusto ko maramdaman nila na importante sila.”
Starter Pari Llagas had 18 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks to lead Blackwater Sports. Justin Chua added 15 points while Louie Vigil led the second stringers with 11 markers.
Kevin Ferrer, one of the team’s top scorers, scored just two points for Blackwater Sports.
“It’s a good victory considering na nagamit ko lahat ng players,” said Isaac.
Jeric Teng had a game-high 32 points for Informatics, winless in four outings.
