EA REGEN Medical Group snapped out of its slump, defeating Cagayan Valley, 103-92, on Thursday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Clark Bautista connected on five triples and finished with 25 points, while Raymund Almazan dropped 20 points, hauled down 19 rebounds, and had four blocks against his former team.

Ian Sangalang also had 17 points and 11 rebounds for EA Regen, which improved to an even 2-2 win-loss card after suffering two straight setbacks.

“Siguro ayaw lang magpatalo ’yung mga bata ng tatlong sunod kaya lumaro ng ganyan,” said EA Regen assistant coach Allan Trinidad, who called the shots for the team against the Rising Suns.

Trinidad said that the team finally got the best out of Sangalang and Almazan, the new twin towers in the league.

“Hindi lang sila magkaintindihan,” said Trinidad, referring to the duo’s struggles early in the conference.

Cagayan Valley dropped its second straight game for a 3-3 win-loss card.

    The scores:

    EA Regens (103) – Bautista 25, Almazan 20, Sangalang 17, Aquino 15, Ko 12, Apinan 6, Miranda 4, Mirza 2, Terso 2, Sanga 0, Semira 0.
