HYRAM Bagatsing scored nine of his 15 points in Blackwater Sports’ big fourth quarter turnaround as the Elite pulled off a 71-69 victory over National University-Banco De Oro on Tuesday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Bagatsing scored all his fourth quarter points in an 11-0 start to the fourth period to finally give the lead to Blackwater Sports for good after a tough stand by NU-BDO, which was looking to break into the win column.

The Elite improved its win-loss record to 3-1 and kept the Bulldogs winless in four games.

“We just can’t take any team lightly,” said Blackwater coach Leo Isaac. “One thing na advantage namin is the championship experience pero parang we’ve been telling our players, ‘Okay champion nga tayo last conference pero the other teams are practicing a lot harder.’”

Bobby Ray Parks hit two free throws as the Bulldogs took a 54-42 lead in the third quarter before the Elite rallied in the final frame.
