Racal rides second quarter surge to coast past Batangas for third straight win

RACAL rolled to its third straight win with a 91-78 beating of Batangas in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup at the JCSGO Gym on Monday.

Sydney Onwubere led Racal with an all-around performance of 18 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Kent Salado had 17 points while Jackson Corpuz added 14 for the Tile Masters, who gained solo lead with a perfect 3-0 card while handing Batangas its third loss in four outings.

Racal turned a tight game into a breakaway using a furious 14-0 run late in the second period, 40-26.

The Batanguenos showed little resistance from there.

"We started flat. Pero nung dumepensa at naging agressive nung second quarter naka 14 points kami," said Racal coach Jerry Codinera, referring to the Tile Masters' surge in the second quarter.

Joseph Sedurifa paced Batangas with 20 points, including 14 in the final canto.

Wilmar Anderson and Dan Sara added 12 points apiece, while Chris Dela Pena chipped in 10.
