RACAL battled back from seven points down to hammer out a 78-73 win over AMA Online Education in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig on Tuesday.

Kent Salado finished with 16 points for the Tile Masters, who gained a share of the lead with Jose Rizal University with identical 2-0 win-loss cards.

Sydney Onwubere and Rey Nambatac added 14 and 10 markers, respectively.

After being down by as much as 63-56 midway in the fourth period, the Tile Masters rallied behind the combined efforts of Onwubere, Salado, and Allan Mangahas.

Salado and Mangahas particularly stepped up in the final stretch. Mangahas scored back-to-back baskets before Salado drained a floater that gave Racal a 76-73 edge with 1:02 to go.

Jackson Corpuz then sealed the win with a floater with 32 ticks remaining as Racal dealt AMA its first loss in three outings.

"We underestimated them because of their height. Buti na lang naniwala sila na kaya pa rin namin manalo," said Racal coach Jerry Codinera, whose team blew a 17-point lead in the second period.
