CAFE France continued its hot streak as the Bakers clobbered AMA Online Education, 92-83, in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao on Monday.
Rod Ebondo led the way with a big double-double of 29 points and 18 rebounds for the Bakers, who rolled to their fifth straight win and grabbed solo second with a 6-1 record.
Paul Desiderio added 14 points built on three triples.
Assured of a quarterfinals berth, Cafe France stayed on track at clinching a top two spot at the end of the elimination round.
"The good thing here is we still have a hold on our destiny. We have to win our remaining games to hopefully land a spot in the top two," said Cafe France coach Egay Macaraya.
The Bakers seized control late by way of an 8-2 run to open the fourth period, 75-70.
The lead ballooned to 12, 87-75, after Paul Desiderio's corner triple with under four minutes to go and the Titans hardly mounted resistance from there.
Juami Tiongson and Jeron Teng scattered 23 and 22 points, respectively, for the Titans, who reeled to a 5-4 card.
