JASON Melano can no longer salvage Blustar Detergent's campaign as the Dragons already got the boot in the ongoing PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup.
But Melano, one of two Filipino reinforcements for Blustar, vowed to make the most of his stint with the Dragons to improve his game in time for his PBA comeback.
On loan from Blackwater, the 6-3 swingman drafted 23rd overall in 2015 admitted that he feels his D-League stint was a demotion of sorts but he's taking it in stride.
"Gagawin ko lahat dito," said Melano, who scored 22 points in an 87-78 loss to Wangs on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
"Bumalik ako sa D-League para mahasa lahat ng skills ko. Baka nakita ng management na marami akong kailangan i-improve sa sarili ko para sa pagbalik ko, hindi na ako mahirapan," he added.
Like Melano, fellow Blackwater draftee Tristan Perez also sees this D-League stint as a chance to improve and insisted that his focus is on helping the team pick up its first win.
"Hindi po muna ako tumitingin sa Blackwater. Ginagawa ko muna tabaho ko dito," said Perez,
Although both have played well for the Dragons, their presence has not translated into victories so far as they remained winless in seven outings.
