JERON Teng suffered his first loss in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the hands of Racal but was quick to shrug off the defeat on Tuesday.
Teng put up another explosive performance as he had another double-double for AMA Online Education with a team-high 23 points and 10 rebounds to go with three assists.
Unfortunately, his all-around effort went for naught as AMA absorbed its first defeat in three games at the hands of the Tile Masters. But the former La Salle star took the loss in stride.
"I felt we could have won the game, it's just the breaks of the game," he said moments after the match at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
"It just shows that we can compete in this tournament. We'll keep on working harder to get to where we want to be," he added.
The 22-year-old cager, who is averaging league-best 27 points, also had another tough shooting game as he was a marked man against Racal, making just 10-of-25 shots.
But he expects to be getting the same attention on defense from other teams moving forward and he hopes to make the right adjustments with the help of his teammates.
"For sure, yung other teams, may scouting report yan. Teams will try to stop me and put up a game plan against me, so I'm expecting those talaga," he said.
"Syempre I'm sure the other players are capable of stepping up. We're composed of good players. Marami kami dito. We have to work harder lang," Teng added.
