ASIA'S Lashes Tomas Morato downed Nailtalk-St. Dominic Savio, 77-62, on Monday in the 2019 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Jhygruz Laude had 16 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals off the bench, including the layup that gave the Soldiers a 17-point lead, 79-56, with 2:08 to play.
Rickson Gerero added 10 points and four boards, while Francis Camacho also scored 10 for the Soldiers.
Asia's Lashes scored 31 points in the third quarter to turn a 26-32 deficit after the first two frames to a commanding 57-42 lead after three.
"Sinabihan ko sila sa dugout na i-execute ang play namin kasi bine-breakdown kami," professed coach Alvin Grey. "Iniisip nila mahina yung team na kalaban namin, pero lahat dito competitive."
The Soldiers bounced back from a 107-77 defeat to CEU two weeks ago, improving their win-loss record in Group A to 2-1.
Cameroonian big man Rudolph Mienlam had 15 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks, while Mike Calomot got 10 points and three boards for Nailtalk-Savio, winless in three games.
