JECKSTER Apinan and Reil Cervantes played big in the first half as Big Chill built a huge lead early and cruised to an 89-75 victory over Cagayan Valley on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Apinan had a team-high 15 points including eight in the first quarter that saw the Superchargers grab a 26-11 lead. Cervantes scored 10 of his 13 markers in the second quarter.
Big Chill never let up and went on to score its eighth win in nine games.
Brian Heruela talled 13 points and 10 assists for the Superchargers, who have won two straight games after losing to NLEX on December 2.
Cagayan Valley lost its third game in 10 outings but remained within striking distance of the leaders in the race for the two automatic berths in the semifinals.
Adrian Celada had 19 points, making 3 of 10 attempts from three-point range, but couldn’t lift his team to victory.
