AMA Online Education feels it aced its selections in the 2019 PBA D-League Draft, picking Joshua Munzon as the top overall selection and securing La Salle playmaker Kib Montalbo in the second round.
"Happy kami kasi yung mga target namin, nakuha namin," said assistant coach Edwin Ancheta.
AMA is hoping Munzon and Montalbo can deliver changes together with holdovers Andre Paras and last year's top selection Owen Graham.
The Titans have yet to reach the semifinals since joining the PBA D-League seven years ago.
The closest it got was in the 2017 Aspirants' Cup when Jeron Teng towed AMA to the quarterfinals as the fifth seed but eventually lost to twice-to-beat Tanduay.
"Usually nasa quarterfinals kami lagi. Hopefully, semis naman," said Ancheta, who represented head coach Mark Herrera in the event.
"Pero ganoon pa rin, one game at a time. Kung sakaling swertehin, championship. Pero malayo pa, hintayin na lang natin."
