AMA Online Education made another move on Wednesday when it signed University of the Philippines cager Kyles Lao.
AMA coach Mark Herrera confirmed the 2013 UAAP Rookie of the Year will be joining the team for the Aspirants Cup.
Herrera said AMA signed the 22-year-old Lao for his offensive capabilities and his passion for the sport, even though the UP guard was sidelined with an ACL injury in the past.
“We all know na Rookie of the Year siya. We believe na he has the potential to make it big in Philippine basketball,” Herrera said.
Lao averaged 7.8 points in Season 76 to win the Rookie of the Year award, beating the likes of Kib Montalbo of La Salle and Axel Inigo, who was then with Adamson.
AMA recently signed Far Eastern University cager Arvin Tolentino and Mac Andaya to help turn things around for the Titans who are winless in three games.
