MORE than the pain from a dislocated right shoulder, Allyn Bulanadi says he hurts more from not being able to contribute to Valencia City Bukidnon-SSCR in their bid to stay in the hunt in the D-League.
"Syempre masakit sa kalooban yun na di ako nakalaro. Parang di ako nakatulong," he said after the Golden Harvest's 100-73 Game Two defeat to Cignal-Ateneo in the 2019 PBA D-League semis on Thursday.
Bulanadi hurt his shoulder on a rebound play against Ange Kouame at 8:05 in the first quarter and was not able to return.
The versatile swingman said he wanted to play but Valencia-SSCR chose to take precaution with his situation.
Still, Bulanadi made sure that his presence would still be felt by his teammates.
"Nandoon naman ako para sa kanila. Mino-motivate ko sila mula sa bench, pero ganoon talaga. Di ko naman inasahan na mai-injure ako eh," said the 21-year-old, who averaged 21.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists.
It wasn't the ending the Golden Harvest envisioned for their campaign in the developmental ranks, but Bulanadi sees positives ahead of the NCAA Season 95 opener next month.
"Madadala talaga namin ito sa NCAA. Malaking tulong sa amin ito, kumbaga, sa jelling din ng team. Malaking tulong talaga para sa amin for the NCAA," the 6-foot-2 Swiss army knife said.
Bulanadi also assured that his bum shoulder won't be much of an issue heading into the season, saying, "Palalakasin na lang ito ng PT namin."
