“Sobrang haba ng vacation kaya expected ko na wala kami sa rhythm. Nag-step-up ’yung third stringers. For me, si Alex Almario ang nag-dictate ng laro,” said Tiu.
“I want the team to prove na ’yung panalo namin sa Hapee, hindi fluke,” Tiu said.
Jumbo Plastic’s win spoiled the efforts of Michael DiGregorio, who scored 21 points and hit 7-of-11 from three-point range.
The Mixers dropped to 2-2, losing their last two games after a fine start to the conference.
The Giants trailed, 63-69, with three minutes left in the fourth. Almario completed a three-point play to tie the game at 69. DiGregorio tied the game for the last time at 72 before Villamor answered with a 3-pointer with 51 seconds to play.
On the next KeraMix possession, DiGregorio was tightly guarded and Keith Agovida turned the ball over.
