ALEC Stockton spearheaded Chadao-FEU's demolition of SMDC-NU, 84-62, to begin its journey in the 2019 PBA D-League Monday at Paco Arena in Manila.
The Fil-Am forward ignited the killer first quarter eruption for the Tamaraws as they stunned the Bulldogs with a 21-8 opener.
Stockton's early tear, where he had seven of his 15 points in the first 12 minutes of action, was more than enough for Chadao-FEU to bamboozle SMDC-NU and cruise to the easy first victory to gain a share of the lead in the Foundation Group.
L-Jay Gonzales also stepped up for the Tamaraws with 12 points, three rebounds, and three assists, as Ken Tuffin and Branrey Bienes both had 11 in the wire-to-wire win.
"Of course, it's a good start for us bur more than anything, kinukuha namin dito is the exposure for our players, especially the bigs. They rose to the challenge today," said coach Olsen Racela.
Cameroonian big man Patrick Tchuente was also solid in his Chadao-FEU debut with nine points, four rebounds, and a block.
SMDC-NU was just out of it from the get-go as it only shot 27-percent from the field.
Dave Ildefonso led the Bulldogs with 14 points, five rebounds and five assists.
