HE might’ve landed a role in GMA Network's popular fantaserye, Encantadia, last year, but Lance Serrano’s priority never changed.
That’s why when the opportunity presented itself, the 5-foot-10 guard grabbed it by the horns and willingly pursued his first love: playing basketball.
"Wala nang question sa akin kung on how I juggle showbiz and basketball, priority ko ever since is basketball," the 28-year-old actor said.
Serrano joined his fellow actor, Andre Paras, in AMA Online Education as he hopes to cultivate the same success, this time on the hard court, in his stint in the 2018 PBA D-League Foundation Cup.
"Passion ko talaga yung basketball. Yung showbiz, on-call naman yan. Hindi mawawala yan," he said.
Serrano expressed his sincerest gratitude to Titans coach Mark Herrera for giving him the chance, something he wasn’t able to do in his days with the Central Colleges of the Philippines.
"Matagal na akong nagta-tryout kay coach Mark, nagho-hope na maging player niya. Masaya lang ako na naniwala siya sa akin," Serrano said.
Though he hardly made a mark in AMA’s slim 97-95 defeat to Batangas-EAC on Monday, Serrano is just grateful for the opportunity, reiterating that no matter what role he fulfills with the Titans, he will do his part to a tee.
"Basta, try lang ako ng try. My love for basketball never fades,” he said.
