    Galliguez catches fire in fourth to power Cagayan Valley to victory over AMA University

    SCORELESS in three quarters, Abel Galliguez caught fire in the fourth and came up with 16 points to lift Gerry’s Cagayan Valley to a 75-70 victory over AMA University on Thursday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

    It was the first match for the Rising Suns since bowing to Hapee in the Aspirants Cup finals last month and first without top rookie pick Moala Tautuaa, who signed with Cebuana Lhuillier after the first conference.

    Galliguez made a four-point play in the fourth that put the Rising Suns ahead, 61-51, in the fourth and Cagayan Valley extended it to 64-51.

    Galliguez also held off several AMA comebacks, the last one a triple with 2:25 left in the fourth to put the Gerry’s Grill-backed Rising Suns up, 75-68.

    Adrian Celada added 12 points and seven rebounds for Cagayan Valley.

    Jay-R Taganas came up with 10 points and 29 rebounds for the Titans, who dropped to 1-1.
