SOUTHWESTERN University defeated Mapua, 75-68, while Far Eastern University downed University of the Visayas, 90-83, at the start of the Mayor Mike Rama Invitational Cup on Friday at the Cebu Coliseum.
After a close first half, the reigning Cesafi champions broke the game wide open with a 14-4 run at the end of the third that put them ahead, 66-50.
Fil-Canadian Adam Mohammed paced the winners with 19 points, while African reinforcement Landry Sanjo added 14.
