SAN Beda flexed its muscles in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League, ripping Mindanao champion Holy Trinity College, 85-46, on Friday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
The Red Lions moved a step closer to the Final Four as they improved to 2-0 in Group B following a tight victory over NCAA rival San Sebastian in their opening match.
They showed their defensive teeth in the first half, limiting the Wildcats to just 15 percent shooting in the first half as they zoomed to a 42-13 lead after the first two quarters.
The General Santos-based squad showed signs of life in the third period but that proved to be for naught as the Red Lions reserves did excellent mop-up duties in the payoff period, leading by as many as 42.
"We knew na ang HTC, lalaban parin yan. Nung una naninibago lang talaga siguro pero nakita niyo naman nung third period. Bisaya din yang mga yan e, talagang palaban," said Bolick who finished with 13 points and five rebounds in limited minutes.
"Sabi ko lang sa mga teammates ko, dito niyo mapapatunayan kung deserving ba talaga kayo sa NCAA kasi alam ko naman na lahat sila magagaling, pinatunayan nila yun," he added.
Clint Doliguez added 11 points and five assists, JV Mocon and Radge Tongco added nine while Calvin Oftana chipped in eight points.
Ever Dialogo led the Wildcats with 15 points and seven boards while Victor Poral finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and six assists as they fell to 1-1
