SAN Beda completed a sweep of Group B in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League Elite Eight with a resounding 79-35 win over La Salle on Sunday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
The Red Lions dominated from the get-go as they took advantage of young Green Archers team composed mainly of Team B players.
Clint Doliguez showed the way for the Red Lions, scoring 10 of his 12 points in the first period to set the stage for yet another blow-out.
The Red Lions forced the Green Archers to turnover after turnover and converted on easy lay-ups — notching 24 turnover points from La Salle's 20 errors.
"I'm happy we got this game but I told the boys the real game for us is the semifinals game. It will be a tough situation for us," said San Beda head coach Boyet Fernandez.
They take on either Ateneo or Lyceum in the semifinals.
"You know LPU, we were just lucky to beat them in the finals and Ateneo's the defending UAAP champions so it's really a tough situation for us," he added.
Calvin Oftana also finished with 12 points and had six boards, Radge Tongco added nine as Donald Tankoua and Arnaud Noah scored eight apiece.
Robert Bolick played only five minutes, asking to be subbed out after banging knees with a La Salle player. Fernandez said it's not serious.
Mark Alcala led the young La Salle squad mentored by Anton Altamirano with 12 points.
