CJ PEREZ torched his former teammates with 36 points as Ateneo beat San Sebastian, 83-48, in the Under-25 division of the Milcu Elite Showcase recently at the Philadephia High School Gym in Quezon City.
Perez also had five rebounds, four assists, and four steals to dominate his former NCAA team and power the Blue Eagles to a 3-1 win-loss record for third place in Group A.
Perez is taking a one-year residency with the Blue Eagles following his transfer from the Stags, who remained winless in five matches in the tournament.
In other games, Issa Gaye had 17 points and seven rebounds to lift National University to a 72-59 win over University of the East.
The Bulldogs took second place in Group A with a 4-1 win-loss record behind unbeaten Enderun Colleges (6-0).
In Group B, Chukwuemeka Nebedum had 18 points and 10 rebounds as Far Eastern University nipped AMA University, 75-74.
The Tamaraws improved to 4-1, joining Adamson on top of Group B in the tournament now sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) and supported by Got Skills, Milcu, Slam Philippines, Gatorade, LGR x Titan Sportswear, and Coach Athletic Trainers’ Tape.
