CJ Isit scored 25 points as Cagayan Valley beat Euro-Med, 89-78, recently in the Pilipinas Commercial Basketball League Founders Cup at The Arena in San Juan.
The Rising Suns to improved their record to 2-2 to tie Euro-Med for second place in Group B.
Cagayan Valley limited Euro-Med’s leading scorer Bong Gallanza to just 11 points, all in the first half.
“He did score a lot in the first half but we paid a conscious effort on stopping him sa second half,” said Cagayan Valley coach Toto Dojillo.
In the other game, Jumbo Plastic Linoleum beat Supremo Lex, 91-69.
JR Taganas and Jeff Viernes had 16 points each for the Giants, who hold a 3-1 win-loss record in Group A.
Supremo Lex is winless in four games.
