    Chiefs make it four in row in Fr. Martin Cup

    ARELLANO University and Mapua scored rousing wins in the 10th Fr. Martin Division 2 Cup basketball tournament at the Trinity University of Asia gymnasium.

    Keith Agovida scored 12 points for the Chiefs, who outplayed Perpetual Help, 63-51, for their fourth straight win and the solo lead in Group B. 

    CJ Isit and Julian Sergeant made 18 and 16 for the Cardinals, who edged Emilio Aguinaldo College, 63-60, and improved their win-loss record in Group A to 2-1.

    The Chiefs' victory came a day after they posted an 85-82 win over the Ateneo Blue Eagles.

    They wasted no time in dominating their game with the Altas, with Agovida making 10 points in the second period as they widened a 14-13 edge to 34-25 at halftime.

    In the juniors division, the Letran Squires got 23 points from Jerby Alacre as they blasted the Jose Rizal University Light Bombers, 63-49, for their second straight win in Group A.

    Sayed Ascano had 15 points and Jonas Tibayan contributed 12 for Chiang Kai Shek-B, which waylaid EAC-ICA, 73-35.
