CHIANG Kai Shek College edged St. Stephen’s High School, 57-54, in overtime to rule the Developmental division for Boys’ 11-under in the 26th Filipino-Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation Basketball Championships recently at CKSC gym in Manila.
CKSC thus completed golden double after scoring a 75-57 win over Hope Christian High School in the premier Division I.
The Little Blue Dragons fell behind by five points going into the last two minutes, but Miguel Dosayla scored two charities before Calvin Villanueva sent the game into overtime with a huge three.
Chiang Kai Shek College used tough defense to deny SSHS’s top gunners clear baskets, while Johnlen Charles Ang, Dosayla and Villanuena were relentless in their assault to extend their reign in the tournament to four years.
“It was a difficult win, so hard, but good thing Villanueva and Dosayla came through with huge baskets,” said Joel Yap, who called the shots for CKSC in the absence of Coach Calvin Li.
The title win – thanks to the 20-point performance of Ang –enabled CKSC to avenge its 26-point loss to SSHS in the eliminations.
Villanueva and Dosayla added 14 and 13 markers, respectively, while Enzo King paced SSHS with 29 points.
St. Jude Catholic School settled for third while Grace Christian College wound up fourth in the tournament presented by Molten.
