FORMER PBA players Chester Tolomia and Don Camaso showed flashes of brilliance to help power Judiciary to victory even as Bureau of Fire Protection finally barged into the win column in the 6th UNTV Cup held over the weekend at the Pasig City Sports Center.

The 6-foot-2 Tolomia fired on all cylinders to finish with a game-high 34 points while Camaso added 30 as Judiciary scored a 95-88 win over the Department of Justice Boosters in Group B eliminations.

Guard Warren Ybanez, another player with a PBA experience, contributed eight points, coming up with huge plays down the stretch as the Magis notched their second win in three games.

Led by ex-pros Rob Wainwright and Gilbert Malabanan, the BFP Firefighters trounced the Department of Health cagers, 89-68, in Group A.

The Firefighters raced to a 27-13 advantage in the first 10 minutes of play and padded it to 19 points, 57-38 at halftime.

Wainwright topscored for the Firefighters with 20 points while Malabanan, who played briefly for Ginebra, chipped in 18 points in the tournament in the tournament organized by UNTV president and CEO Daniel Razon for the country’s public servants and offering P 4 million to the chosen charity of the champion team.

National Housing Authority dumped Ombudsman, 101-80, and improved to 3-1 in Group B elims.

Marvin Mercado scattered 25 points to lead the NHA Builders.
