CENTRO Escolar University completed a five-game sweep of the 2016 National Collegiate Basketball League with a 77-63 victory over Technological Institute of the Philippines in the championship at the TIP gym.
The Scorpions finished the eliminations with a 4-0 record before capturing the title game over the Engineers.
Jason Opiso was named Player of the Year, CEU’s JK Casino, JJ Manlangit and Rodrigue Ebondo, and TIP’s Jason Jimenez and Bryan Santos were named to the Mythical Five.
The Scorpions are now set to compete in the new Universities and Colleges Basketball League following thier conquest in the NCBL.
