CENTRO Escolar University tries to arrest a two-game losing run when it faces Technological Institute of the Philippines on Monday in the PG Flex Linoleum-Universities and Colleges Basketball League at the Olivarez College gym in Parañaque City.
The Scorpions are expected to be in full force for their 12 noon encounter with the TIP Engineers after playing with only six players the past three games due to their other commitments.
The Olivarez College Sea Lions, on the other hand, hope to use their latest win as an added motivation when they collide with the National College of Business and Arts Wildcats at 4 p.m.
Clashing in the 2 p.m. game are Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas and Philippine Christian University-Dasmariñas with the former out to improve their 2-2 record.
CEU’s previous game was a forgettable one, losing badly to the defending champion Diliman College, 90-62, on Thursday – the day the Engineers notched their first win after dropping their first four games.
The win shoved Diliman to the top of the standings as Olivarez College snapped University of Batangas’ five-game winning run, 84-78, also on Thursday.
The Engineers, however, need another massive effort from Papa Ndiaye if they are to follow up their 88-69 win over the Wildcats.
The Senegalese 6-foot-9 center tallied 27 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals for TIP.
The Dolphins tote a 1-3 mark in the eight-team tournament.
