CEBU CITY — University of San Carlos Warriors kept its place atop the standings with a 100-72 rout of University of Southern Philippines Foundation on Sunday in the 15th Cesafi men’s basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum.

Cameroonian reinforcement Shooster Olago scored scored 22 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, while the vastly-improved Charles Pepito had his own double-double of 16 markers and 11 boards.

USC’s three wingmen Ian Tagapan, Ian Ortega and Victor Rabat scored in double-figures with 13, 11 and 10, respectively, as USC scored its seventh win in eight tries.

The Warriors found themselves trailing, 28-30, after USPF’s Wisdom Ceniza and Thomas Laver sank consecutive three-pointers. But USC responded with a 17-2 run anchored on the baskets of Olago, Tagapan, Ortega and Rabat as USC closed out the first half ahead, 45-32.

A 14-3 blast in the third that saw Pepito crash the boards for easy putbacks to raise the lead to 31 points, 72-41, and the Warriors cruised to victory.
