CEBU CITY – The Phinma-Southwestern University Cobras manhandled My Led Opto-Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats, 74-47, in the 8th Cesafi Partner’s Cup on Tuesday night at the Cebu Coliseum.

Already assured of a spot in the semifinals, the Cobras refused to step off the gas pedal and stomped the Wildcats from the get-go to snatch their fourth win in five tries.

After an injury-riddled season in Cesafi last year, SWU reloaded for the new season, adding blue-chip recruits in former Perpetual Help Altalette Sir Shaquille Imperial while bringing back solid big man Bernie Bregondo.

Two-time Cesafi MVP Mac Tallo led the assault with a near double-double of 18 points and nine rebounds laced with two steals.

His veteran backcourt mate John Lloyd Luz was just as effective in tallying 16 points and four assists to help boot out the Wildcats after their fifth loss against a lone win.
