CEBU CITY – Former Far Eastern University guard John Lloyd Luz scored 18 points to help the Southwestern University-Phinma Cobras overcome the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats, 68-64, in the 16th Cesafi men’s basketball tournament on Saturday night at the Cebu Coliseum.

Luz, a cat-quick guard who played for the Tamaraws several years ago before finding a second home down south, scored eight of his total output in the fourth to help keep the pursuing Wildcats at bay.

Returning big man Bernie Bregondo added 12 points and eight boards while two-time Cesafi MVP Mac Tallo added 10 markers and six rebounds.
