CEBU CITY – Cebu Institute of Technology-University notched their first win, beating University of San Carlos, 82-77, in the 2018 Cesafi men’s basketball tournament on Tuesday night at the Cebu Coliseum.

The Wildcats held a 10-point lead, 60-50, at the start of the final period but saw it trimmed to two, after a layup by Jules Langres with 21 seconds to go.

CIT-U managed to create breathing room with free throws from veterans Kevin Peter Oleodo and Mark Christian Kong as the Wildcats scored their first win in eight games.

“It feels so great. Of course we have been working hard for this win. I would like to thank my players for their hard work and effort. I would like to thank our supporters who are there for us win or lose,” said Wildcats coach Bembem Alcaraz.
