CHRISVEIL Sports made Cavite proud and claimed the 2025 Smart-NBTC South Luzon Regional Championship after taking down Momsie’s Kitchenette of Laguna, 71-65, Wednesday at PCU-Dasmariñas Gym.

The Caviteño side used a killer fourth quarter assault and showed great poise in the endgame to stage an 8-0 finishing kick that ultimately allowed them to wrest the crown.

Jancarl Gadlan kept the ship afloat for Chrisveil, scoring 10 of his 20 points in the first quarter, to go with seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the finale to be named the Regional Most Outstanding Player.

The champs also had plenty of heroes with Raphael Artiga knocking down four triples for his 12 points, Francis Austin Cervantes with nine points, five rebounds, and three blocks, and the duo of Aaron Kirk Justin Yu and Raven Tolentino combining for 13 points and 15 boards in this tourney presented by SM Supermalls and Playtime Cares.

En route to the crown, Chrisveil dethroned last year’s titlist Batang Tiaong in the Round of 16 to change the narrative after EZ Jersey-Doc Boleros of CAMANAVA (North Luzon), Toyomoto Auto Supply of Davao (Mindanao), and Team Khalifa of Cebu (Visayas) repeated as Regional Champions.

It also became the first team this season to come from the Regionals’ host province to capture the throne.

Chrisveil’s balanced attack enabled it to weather the game challenge from Momsie’s Kitchenette which was buoyed by the hot shooting of Justine Yeoj Glorioso, who drained seven treys for his game-high 23 points, and the stupendous playmaking of Mythical Team member Mark Clarence Piaña, who dished out eight assists with his six points.

Nonetheless, the two earned their spots in the 2025 Smart-NBTC National Finals as the South Luzon representatives.

SJCDC and Uncle Drew also booked the last South Luzon tickets to the Nationals by winning their respective Regional Wildcard games.

The Thaddeans hurdled longtime rival Baby Dolphins, 82-73, behind Stanley Troy Gicoso’s 21 points, four rebounds, and four assists and Barquin’s 11 points and eight boards.

Uncle Drew also gutted out a 72-68 escape from Enverga U Wildcats of Quezon with Montilla nabbing 19 points and five boards.

With the 16 regional tickets handed out, focus now shifts to the Wildcard Tournaments on March 27 to 30 at Gameville Ball Park and CCF Center where the last two tickets to the 2025 Smart-NBTC National Finals presented by SM Supermalls will be given away.
