CARL Tamayo carried the Changwon LG Sakers to a big 90-80 bounce-back victory over Busan KCC Egis on Thursday in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) at Changwon Gymnasium.

The Gilas Pilipinas stud was an efficient 9-of-16 from the field for his game-high 21 points, to go with six rebounds and six assists as the home team won for the eighth time in their last nine games.

It was also a redemption game for Tamayo, who was held to just seven points in the LG Sakers’ 78-70 defeat to Seoul SK Knights last Monday.

The win kept Changwon at third place in the standings with its 21-14 record.

Meanwhile, fellow former University of the Philippines alumnus JD Cagulangan found himself on the losing end as Suwon KT Sonicboom bowed to the Knights, 80-75, at Jamsil Student Gymnasium.
