In roughly 16 minutes of play, Tamayo fired 11 points, six rebounds, and two assists as the nationals walloped Chinese Taipei in their final assignment of the opening window for the 2025 Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers.

Back in January, the former University of the Philippines hotshot parted ways with the defending Japan B.League Division I champions Ryukyu Golden Kings as he looks to "explore new horizons to showcase his skills and make a more significant contribution to another team."
The 22-year-old ace registered 2.5 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 0.3 assist in 7.8 minutes of action in 16 games played during his championship-winning rookie year with the Golden Kings.
But in his now-halted second season, Tamayo saw a meager rise in numbers with 3.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 0.6 assist in 12.5 minutes with 23 games under his belt.
In its statement, VP Global Management also underscored that Tamayo is "currently only committed to Gilas Pilipinas while weighing options on his professional basketball career."
