Carl Tamayo continues fine form for Changwon LG Sakers in KBL

CARL Tamayo restored order for the Changwon LG Sakers as they moved to solo first place in the 2025-26 Korean Basketball League (KBL) season over the weekend.

The Gilas Pilipinas star exploded for 26 points from five triples, alongside four assists, two rebounds, one steal, one block in Sunday's 78-70 road win against Anyang Jung Kwan Jang to extend Changwon's win streak to three and climb up to 12-4.

Rhenz Abando was limited to just four points, three boards, three blocks, and one assist for Anyang (10-6) in the defeat.

It was a huge follow up for the Sakers which also claimed the 82-67 road victory over Suwon KT SonicBoom on Saturday where Tamayo registered 11 points, two rebounds, and two assists.

JD Cagulangan was held to four points, two assists, and one steal in the loss for Suwon (8-7).

Justin Gutang's Seoul Samsung Thunders got the better of Kevin Quiambao's Goyang Sono Skygunners, 75-72, on Sunday.

Gutang, the former Benilde Blazer, tallied 11 points, five boards, and two assists in the win to push the Thunders up to 7-9.

It ended the Skygunners' two-game win streak and fall to 5-10 despite Quiambao's 12 points, six rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

Daegu KOGAS Pegasus also bounced back with a 67-57 triumph at home aganst Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus on Sunday to rise to 4-11.

SJ Belangel got five points, seven assists, two steals, and one rebound in the win, whereas Migs Oczon was a DNP for Ulsan (6-10).

Oczon also did not play in Ulsan's 88-77 defeat to Busan KCC Egis at Busan Sajik Gymnasium on Saturday.

William Navarro was scoreless in two minutes of action for the 8-6 Egis.

Ethan Alvano also steered Wonju DB Promy to an 87-84 win against Seoul SK Knights on Saturday where the Fil-Am guard collected 15 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals for the 9-6 Promy.
