Camsur stays spotless, Taguig claims first win in NBL

CAMSUR Express made it four in a row while the Taguig Generals claimed their first win in the National Basketball League-Pilipinas Season 2024 President’s Cup at the Colegio De Sebastian Gym in San Fernando, Pampanga.

The Express defeated Paranaque Smile 360, 118-113, to remain spotless after four games while the Generals outlasted home team Tikas Kapampangan, 106-100, to even their mark to 1-1.

Express near sweep

Jerome Almario had 38 points, nine rebounds, four assists, six steals, and two blocks as the Express moved two wins shy of sweeping the first round of the double round-robin elimination round tournament.

Mike Sampurna scored 21 points while Dan Natividad had 20 points to help the Generals atone for their loss to Camsur at home to open the season three weeks ago.

    Tikas Kapampangan was dealt its first defeat after three games, while Paranaque Smile 360 stayed winless after three matches.

    NBL-Pilipinas games resume on Friday at the WES Arena in Valenzuela City with Taguig facing Paranaque at 5 p.m. and Valenzuela battling Tikas Kapampangan at 7 p.m.
