ALWIN Margallo scored 16 points as the CamSur Express defeated the Bandila, 85-65, last Saturday in the National Basketball League (NBL) Season 2 at the San Leonardo Gym in Nueva Ecija.
Dexter Mendoza had 15 points, six rebounds, and five steals as the Express won for the third straight time to go 3-1 and take third place in the standings behind Iriga City (4-0) and Rizal (1-0).
Meanwhile, Laguna swept its matches over the weekend with the Pistons beating the Nueva Ecija Rice Makers, 121-101, last Saturday and the Zamboanga Valientes, 107-76, last Sunday improving their record to 3-2.
Shin Manacsa had 29 points in the Pistons’ win over the Rice Makers, and King Fadriquela contributed 15 points, 10 rebounds, and three steals in their win over the Valientes.
The Rice Makers bounced back from their loss to the Pistons by beating the Imus Bandila in overtime, 108-102, last Sunday to improve their mark to 2-2.
Joffrey Tadeo had 22 points and 11 rebounds including two free throws that sent the game into overtime before finally taking control in the extra period.
