THE MPBL Datu Cup match between Navotas and Muntinlupa that was called off last July 28 due to a broken rim will finally be resumed on Saturday at the Angeles University Foundation gym.
Commissioner Kenneth Duremdes issued a memo recently about the resumption of the game, Fox Sports Philippines reported on Thursday.
The game will be resumed at 5:30 p.m. right before the regular doubleheader pitting the Basilan Steel against the Bacoor Strikers, and Pampanga Lanterns against the Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines.
League forced to call the game off with 1:35 left in overtime after a three-point shot by Kyle Neypes broke the rim. Muntinlupa was up, 98-93, when the game was called off since there were no replacement rims in the gym.
Duremdes said the game will be resumed even if it only has a bearing for at least one team. The Clutch are in seventh place in the North division with an 11-12 card, but can still move up the rankings heading to the playoffs.
However, players, including Neypes, who are no longer connected with either Navotas or Muntinlupa will no longer be around at the resumption.
