WNBA sensation Caitlin Clark shared how it would be a 'great idea' for the NBA to try new things, such as the contentious four-point line first implemented in the PBA this season.

Speaking in the ‘New Heights’ podcast with NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce, Clark believes that the four-point shot isn't that bad of an idea. In fact, it could help boost the NBA's viewership -- something that's been on a decline as of late.

“I love three-point shooting. I love seeing guys just like launch threes, but not everybody loves that," she said.

“I’d love that [four point-line]. Let's do it. That's a great idea. (NBA commissioner), Adam Silver, four-point line.”

Following a stellar rookie campaign with the Indiana Fever, the former Iowa college star saw the game grow and evolve right before her eyes.

And she saw first-hand just how good pros are, not only in the WNBA -- but in the NBA as well.

“Honestly, I feel like the average basketball fan doesn't understand how good NBA players are and they think it looks like they're not trying,” Clark shared.

“I promise you, they're trying [but] they're just like so good. That's why it looks like they're not trying.”

More skill, less drama

The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year believes fans have this desire for added entertainment value from much more physical games, to all sorts of tension and drama on and off the court.

But a lot has changed not only in the NBA and WNBA but in the way the game is played globally -- owing to the advancing skill level of the players today.

“Obviously, the physicality of the league has changed a lot. I wasn't around when it was much more physical and maybe people want more like beef and physicality and people think it's gotten soft,” Clark said.

“I think that’s also because the skill has just changed and that's what's great about basketball. It's always evolving. It’s going to be different than when MJ played. It’s going to be different in 10 years than it is now. So, it's hard for me to like put my finger on like why [basketball viewership] has gone down.”
