CAIDA Tiles clinched the first finals seat in the PCBL Founders Cup after beating Euro-Med, 75-69, on Saturday for a sweep of their best-of-three semifinal series on Saturday at the JCSGO Gym.

The Tile Masters limited Euro-Med to just three points in the second quarter to put a comfortable gap between them and Euro-Med that held to the end.

Caida, the top seed in the semifinal round, will take on either Jumbo Plastic Linoleum or Sta. Lucia Realty, whose own semifinal series is headed for a deciding Game Three on Monday at the JCSGO Gym.

James Martinez had 21 points including three triples as the Giants downed the Realtors, 72-65, in Game Two.

Ford Ruaya had 14 points while Jio Jalalon and Jordan Rios had 12 and 10 points, respectively, for the Tile Masters, who are looking to become the inaugural champion of the commercial league supported by Accel, Ambucore, Spalding and Aquabest.

“Medyo relieved knowing the pressure ng number one, if you lose one game, advantage na sa kanila na. At least, we survived the semifinals. It will be a stronger opponent in the finals,” said Caida coach Mike Buendia.

Samboy De Leon had 12 points, while Pari Llagas and Aaron Jeruta had 11 each for Euro-Med, which only got nine points from Custodio following an 18-point outburst in Game One.

“He (Custodio) kept the game close with his outside shooting in Game One kaya naglagay kami ng defensive adjustments sa kanya,” said Buendia.
