CAGAYAN Valley downed Supremo Lex, 74-60, for its second straight win, boosting its bid for a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinal round of the tournament on Tuesday night in the PCBL Founders Cup at the JCSGO gym.
Mark Brana, the hero in the win over Caida Tiles days ago, picked up form where he left off and scored a game-high 23 points to power the Rising Suns to their fourth win in seven games.
Carlo Isit had a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Stephen Siruma contributed 10 for the Rising Suns.
Cagayan Valley outrebounded Supremo Lex, 51-41, and the Rising Suns scored 50 points in the paint compared to only 36 for their rivals.
Kama Motors pulled off an 82-78 upset win over sister team Caida Tiles in the second game.
It was the second straight defeat for by the Tile Masters, while Kama Motors scored its third victory in seven matches in the tournament supported by Spalding, Ambucore, Accel and Aquabest.
