BULACAN halted its three-game slide, slipping past Biñan City, 87-82, on Wednesday in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Lakan Cup at the Angeles University Foundation Gym in Pampanga.
Trailing 78-82 at the 2:49 mark in the fourth quarter, the Kuyas ended the game on a 9-0 run punctuated by a Gwyne Capacio triple with nine ticks left to push Bulacan back to .500 with a 4-4 record.
Dan Sara tallied 19 points, nine rebounds and six assists for the Kuyas while Capacio had 11 markers in eight minutes. Capacio and Sara starred in the final frame with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Macky Acosta registered 18 markers to lead the Heroes, who dropped to 3-5, while Kyle Neypes added a double-double of 14 markers and 10 boards.
Biñan star guard Allan Mangahas struggled with only three markers on 1-of-9 shooting.
