BRIGHT Akhuetie had 14 points, 15 rebounds, and six blocks as University of the Philippines advanced to the finals of the Milcu Sports Basketball Got Skills Elite Showcase after beating Letran, 70-68.
Akhuetie’s double-double earned the Rodney Santos-coached Maroons a trip to the finals against Lyceum.
The Pirates beat De Ocampo Memorial Colleges, 89-78, to also advance to the championship game.
Carl Lumbao had 11 points, six assists, and two steals for the Pirates.
Fran Yu had 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals for the Knights but his effort was not enough to push Letran in the finals.
Dharrell Caranguian had 15 points for the Toto Dojillo-coached De Ocampo squad.
